During 2022, the Die Humansdorpse Landbou Koöperasie (Humkoop) approached a number of e-commerce development companies, looking for an economic strategy to take the company into the online space.

After three rounds of evaluation, Syncrony Digital was chosen as their development partner.

At the outset Humkoop had an existing content site with no transactional capabilities. To complement this, Syncrony was tasked to design an e-commerce store that would

  • support up to 50 branch locations, each with its own product set and delivery methods which would include click and collect
  • integrate into their ERP system AgriLogic, for synchronisation of product pricing and stock levels
  • future integration would include sync of online orders into the ERP system with marketing integration into a bulk mailing system for newsletters, special offers abs abandoned cart notifications

We delivered as per spec a system that was user friendly and fully focused on making the search and selection of products as easy as possible for mobile users.

ERP Integration

We built a custom ERP integration for product updates that runs every 2 hours and keeps site stock in sync with actual stock. As mentioned, this functionality will be further enhanced in the next phase.


Mailchimp was selected as the bulk mailing system because of its excellent Magento plugin.

This enables the sending of a number of specialised mailers to the Humkoop audience. These mailers include product specials, a weekly information mailer as well as a job openings and recruiting bulletin.
